That guy because he is this really nerdy kid and his dad makes him play lots of sports and he sucks at them. I also chose him because I can wear my football stuff and I don’t have to go shopping for a costume.

2017 Athletics Reflection

Athletics
Yesterday we had athletics. Firstly we had Discus, Secondly we had high jump, Thirdly we had Sprints and Lastly we had shot put.

In Discus I Went 4th to last and threw it to be in the lead by a long way. On my next throw I threw it further to extend the lead.

Next was high jump where we started at 0.95 metres which I easily cleared. Next we went to 1.05 metres and I cleared that as well. Next we went to 1.15 metres I think and I cleared that at that ended two people going for first me and William. The bar went to 1.20 metres and William jumped first and he missed. Next I jumped and missed. Then william jumped over it but knocked it off with his hand and missed. Then it was my turn and if I got over I won. I went full pace at the bar and jumped over it the bar stayed on and I won.

Soon after was sprints where I got 1st in my heat and then I went to the finals where I nearly got second but when we looked at the video my head was third.

Shot put was next where I went up had my throw. Carter got 1st William got 2nd and Ryder got 3rd.

Art Blog

28.8.17
2 weeks ago we participated in an art program where we made a koru with designs around it. We were inspired by Raewyn Harris who also makes landscape art but we chose to do the koru's. I started off 2 weeks ago but I had to finish It last week because I was sick on Thursday and Friday.
We started off going through on a normal piece of paper with pencil. Next we used the same paper but used chalk and coloured in with crayon and dyed over it so the chalk went black. Next we did the exact same thing but on an A3 piece of paper which turned out to look like this in this picture.

Maths Term 2

WALT: Solve written division as by showing a remainder as a fraction.

My next learning goal: Become independent at estimating the reasonableness of answers to very large problems.

I learnt how to do this>

by doing the question and the whatever the remainder is you turn it into a fraction by what you were dividing by.
In this example the remainder was 1 and I was dividing by three that's how I got 1 3rd.

SLC

Reading Goal Term 2

WALT: Organise text into order.

I think I have achieved this because I have worked on it for a while and I think I have achieved this goal.

In this photo we had to read a story and then write out the key points onto this sheet. Next we had to draw out the pictures for the piece of writing.

In the four areas we had to include the main ideas in order. I found this hard because it is hard to identify the main ideas.

Term 2 Dance Program

Link to photo

We did a dance program for 2 weeks and at the end on the friday night we had to perform it was something i will never do again :)

I am walking down the beach looking at the sea crashing over the boulders. There are rocks out in the salty wet sea. It is so satisfying looking out in the beach with all the sand everywhere.  Crash!!! A boulder comes flying down right in front of me.

I can see a boulder about to hatch with cracks all over it. Standing here wondering if there is goo or slime or rocks inside the boulders. I am waiting for it to burst open when a giant wave crashes over me.

I can hear the boulder cracking and cracking wondering what pops out of it or what could pop out when suddenly, more come flying down Boom!! Crash!!
More and more what are these. All I can see are boulders crashing down in front of me.

I can smell The salty sea water blowing to me and some goo which i think is coming from the boulders. I can smell the salty rotting seaweed underneath my feet EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! What is wrong with this seaweed?

I can feel the tickling sand underneath my feet as well as the disgusting rotten seaweed that is soooooo salty!! The boulder keeps cracking open there are about a million cracks on it now. It is so cool watching it crack and crack.

I can taste salty water in my mouth from swimming as well as the seaweed that is stuck to the boulders. They crack every second now that it is open so much. There is another boulder it landed right on top of the one in front of me.

It landed directly on the boulder Boom! The bottom one cracks open it spurts out disgusting green goo eww I ring my mum she comes down to pick me up we both leave the beach with a photo of everything.

THE END

My reflection on writing this week: I think I have done really well on this writing because I put lots and lots of effort and detail into this.
I have worked towards achieving my goals by: Using up my time at school and a little at home by working hard and trying to use good ideas from myself and put them into lots of detail.

The Mirror In The Attic

resource image

WALT:write a “moment in time” piece of writing.

The Mirror In The Attic

The girl kneels carefully in front of the mirror curious about what might happen. She wonders why there is a lovely rectangular mirror in the attic and as it in perfect condition why is it not being used.

She sees herself in front of the mirror wondering how it is so clean. You would think it would be covered in dust because the whole attic is and the mirror is clean.

She can hear the creak of the wooden floor. It is very scary being up there alone with a mirror. I wonder what it would be like up there in the attic by herself, with lots of dust around her and a sparkling clean mirror.

She can smell lots of dust from the whole attic but at the same time she smells water. I wonder what it is from is it her breath where the water is coming from, she must be creeped out.
She touches the mirror it feels like water, that is the smell but how is it water. There are even ripples it is like what happens when you drop a rock in the sea.

She could taste the dust in her mouth while tasting her lunch she’d just eaten, but she can taste water as well. She hasn't had any water in the past 30 minutes, maybe it was the mirror, she became scared and then she leaves.

The girl comes back with her mum and tells her about everything. She asks her mum to touch it but nothing happens, how, it is impossible it's so weird her mum tells her she's weird and they both leave.

**************************************************
WHAT?
This week I am reflecting on one of my writing goals

IALT: Improve my writing by learning how to:

* use a variety of sentence starters

This week I have been focusing on how to write a drop-in clause

SO WHAT?
Here is an example of a drop-in clause

Mr Forman is our teacher.
He loves his red car.
Mr Forman, who is our teacher, loves his red car.

Mr Forman is the subject of the sentence.
We change ‘He’ to ‘who’
We place commas around the clause we ‘drop-in’

MY EXAMPLES:
Here are two examples of a drop-in clause that I have created.
[1]Baxter,who is a skillful soccer player,scored a goal
[2]Baxter,the soccer player,is awesome

NOW WHAT?
I rate my understanding level at 9
My confidence level with using these types of sentences independently in my writing is 7
